A KIND-HEARTED youngster is taking on a 2.5km sponsored swimming challenge to help those suffering from cancer.

Jack Barker, of Mill Lane, Bolsover, decided to support Marie Curie cancer care after his great grandfather Jack Howdle died after suffering with lung cancer.

Young Jack’s mum Andrea said: “This will be the longest he has ever swam.”

The youngster will be doing the Marie Curie Swimathon, at Creswell Leisure Centre, on April 29. Sponsors can find Jack in the ‘sponsor a swimmer’ section of the www.swimathon.org website.
