BOLSOVER District Council is set to sign an agreement with Creswell Heritage Trust that will see £1.9m invested into the district over the next five years.

Creswell Heritage Trust’s The Limestone Journeys Scheme aims to release grants to make the district’s landscape and heritage more accessible and to boost regeneration.

The scheme is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the council is supporting community projects administratively and financially to lever in grants.

Projects will include trails, tree planting, cycle routes, highlighting magnesium limestone areas, educational activities and small grants for landowners.

A decision to sign the agreement was approved at a council scrutiny meeting on Friday.
