A static bike ride by Clay Cross-based Dicky Tickers Heart Support Group resulted in £2,000 being raised for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

A static bike ride by Clay Cross-based Dicky Tickers Heart Support Group resulted in £2,000 being raised for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The group did the ride at Sharley Park in the town, clocking up mileage which was the equivalent of riding from Lands End to John O’ Groats.

Organisers Mary Wardle and John Platt were invited to present the cheque at the headquarters of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance at East Midlands Airport, where they heard that the helicopter costs £1400 each time it takes off and in most cases saves a life.
