Dedicated followers of fashion have the chance to snap up contemporary clothes and vintage dresses by top designers at bargain prices - and raise a pile of cash for charity.
Designer brands like Armani, Max Mara, Paul Smith and high street fashion from Monsoon and Coast will be on sale at a pop-up boutique in Bakewell on Saturday.
Prices will range from £1 to £40 for clothes, shoes and handbags at the exclusive boutique in the Granby Arcade.
Proceeds will go to Bakewell-based Helen’s Trust which supports seriously ill people of all ages, across north Derbyshire and Sheffield, to have the choice to be cared for and die at home.
Sophie Gill, the charity’s Community Fundraiser, said: “Seventy-one per cent of people would prefer to die at home yet over half still die in hospital. Helen’s Trust works hard to make this option a reality for local people. Last year they provided over 3,000 hours of care and 200 pieces of equipment to people in need of support at home.
“We are solely reliant on voluntary income and receive no statutory funding so all support raising funds is vital to the work we do.”
Sophie added: “I love shopping and we all love a bargain and the Pop Up Boutique is a great opportunity for you to get involved with your local charity. We have been asking our supporters to donate one special item that they no longer wear from their wardrobes and have had some fantastic donations.
“We have brand new items with labels still attached to them and fantastic vintage dresses. Some of the more unusual items include beaded ball gowns, designer handbags and a fabulous pair of diamante shoes.”
