One lucky year 11 student is celebrating after winning an iPad following the county council’s Derbyshire skills festival.
Fifteen year-old Alfie Howells, from Hasland Hall Community School, was one of over 10,000 young people who attended the festival − a post-16 careers event in September.
Since the event, the county council been asking what people thought of the four day festival for their chance to win an iPad.
Lucky Alfie was chosen at random from over 500 feedback entries and presented with the prize by our Cabinet Support Member for Education, Stuart Ellis.
Councillor Stuart Ellis said: “I was delighted to present the prize to Alfie. It was great to see a large number of young people engaging in their future career choices at the skills festival.
“We are very pleased with the feedback we received from students and parents, it will really help us make sure future events are just as successful.”
