Derbyshire’s Chief Fire Officer, Sean Frayne, has pleaded not guilty to raping a woman seven years ago.

Frayne, 47, formerly of Etwall but now of Spinneyfield, Huddersfield, entered his not guilty plea at Derby Crown Court today.

It is alleged that he raped a woman in Etwall between November 30, 2006, and January 1, 2007.

His trial is due to start on November 10. It is expected to last for three days.
