When global sports and fashion brand Puma International sought fresh creative input for its latest catalogue, the company’s London-based brand managers chose Derbyshire-based designers fwd:motion.
In the current economic climate even major global players are widening their search when it comes to out-sourcing all sorts of services.
Brand managers at Puma’s Tottenham Court Road head office had become aware of work carried out by Renishaw-based graphic designers fwd:motion and invited the team to bid for the production of Puma’s Autumn / Winter 2012 Footwear, Accessories and Apparel catalogue.
And fwd:motion made its bid via an innovative multimedia presentation which impressed Puma’s managers so much that they not only awarded fwd:motion the contract, but also asked for the same format to be used for their own work.
Work began in September to plan the project in conjunction with the Puma team, led by International Lifestyle Marketing Manager, Rima Patel.
This was followed by an extensive photographic shoot covering hundreds of items from Puma’s designer ranges, including the latest footwear from Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan, alongside a wide selection of bags, belts and accessories.
As soon as the shots were available, the fwd:motion team began designing and building the promotional material for both traditional print and interactive online formats, completing the entire project in just three weeks.
Following delivery, Puma’s Rima Patel contacted fwd:motion, and said: “I seriously want to thank you and your team for your time, patience, dedication, and brilliance in this delivery! You have gone over and above my expectations and handled this project extremely well every step of the way. I commend you & your staff! It is very safe to say that you just found yourself a permanent client.”
“It’s by no means the first time we have carried out large projects for national organisations,” said fwd:motion’s David Whiteley, “but we were truly delighted to have the opportunity to partner such a well-known international brand and thereby have our creative work seen and used in many countries around the world.
“And, of course, Puma’s very positive reaction to our efforts is very gratifying for all concerned.”
