Derbyshire firefighters come to rescue of Cocker Spaniel trapped in water

Firefighters came to the rescue of a small Cocker Spaniel which had become trapped in water.

At about 1.10pm on Sunday, crews from Alfreton and the animal rescue unit in Matlock were called to Holly Lane in Ambergate where they found the stuck animal.

A fire service spokesman said: “The small Cocker Spaniel dog was trapped on a steep-sided river.

“Crews used line rescue equipment to free the trapped animal from the water.”

Firefighters left the scene at about 2.30pm.
