Council chiefs have published a public register of authorised firework stores ahead of this year’s bonfire night celebrations.
Three specialist outlets are licensed to sell fireworks all year round in Derbyshire but other retailers can only sell them from October 15 to November 10.
Cllr Ellie Wilcox, Derbyshire County Council’s deputy cabinet member for health and communities, said: “We want to make sure people can enjoy their bonfire celebrations in safety.
“Every year our trading standards team licence firework outlets across the county.
“Officers carry out inspections to check that their stocks are stored correctly and fireworks meet safety standards.
“We recommend that anyone thinking of buying fireworks checks the register to ensure that they’re getting them from a recognised source.”
