Dad completes gruelling 540 mile cycle ride for Chesterfield Birth Centre
Stuart Lane, 33, and his wife Sarah, 35, of Cemetery Road, Danesmoor, received the devastating news on New Year’s Day 2013 that their baby boy Jacob had passed away at 38 weeks. Two days later, he was born sleeping.
Two years on, the devoted couple received “amazing support” from staff at the birth centre when their now one-year-old son Benjamin was born.

Stuart’s mum, Dianne, 68, of Brackendale Avenue, Danesmoor, said: “I am immensely proud of him. The meaning behind the cycle ride is very important.
“Stuart’s first words to me when we met them at Land’s End was ‘I want a cup of tea’.”
“They had to contend with wind and rain, they were drenched.
“I have a sneaky feeling there could be more challenges to come.”
