DERBYSHIRE cyclists raised pots of cash for charity when they took part in a gruelling sponsored bike ride.

Graham Smith, Martin Riley, Trev Clement, Matt Duckworth, Richard Bacon, Paul Millington, Mark Hanley, Nigel Green, Andy Fletcher and Matthew Murphy rode 95 miles along the West Highland Way in Scotland in July.

The men raised a total of £6,876 which has been split between three charities including Ashgate Hospice and the Chesterfield branch of the RSPCA.

The riders said: “We’ve been doing this ride for the last three years and in that time we’ve raised £30,417.

“We wouldn’t have done it without the generosity of all the local people and businesses who’ve sponsored us – a huge thank you to all.”
