South Normanton man back in court after breaching restraining order

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Friday, August 14, how Robert Scrimshaw, 44, of Coronation Drive, South Normanton, was given a restraining order not to see his wife after he was convicted following a trial for assaulting her.

Prosecuting solicitor Ian Shaw said Scrimshaw went to the property because his son had been upset but after they started arguing his son called the police. Mr Shaw added that Scrimshaw had spoken to his daughter to make sure his wife would not be home.

Scrimshaw pleaded guilty to breaching the order on July 31. The probation service said Scrimshaw had been doing well attending appointments after his conviction for assault. Magistrates adjourned the case until August 26 to consider pre-sentence reports.
