RIPLEY: Two men put behind bars after stabbing

From the courts

From the courts

TWO men have been jailed after a man was stabbed at a house in Ripley.

Nottingham Crown Court heard during sentencing on Tuesday, February 26, how Gary Cross, 38, and Andrew Robbins, 36, got into the house of Robbins’ ex-partner in Butterley Mews, Ripley, on August 19, 2012, and assaulted her new partner.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, suffered serious stab wounds to his body, according to Derbyshire Constabulary.

Police told how Cross and Robbins went on the run across the country but eventually handed themselves into police on September 6. Both men were arrested and charged with unlawful wounding.

Cross and Robbins, both of South Street, Riddings, pleaded guilty to the offence.

They were both sentenced to 37 months in prison.
