Police in Chesterfield are asking residents to check their CCTV for images of missing man Roy Thompson.

PC Richard Hill, one of the area’s missing person officers, said: “We’re very worried about Mr Thompson but we have recently become aware of a possible sighting of him on North Road in Calow. CCTV footage shows a man, who could be Mr Thompson, walking towards All Pits Road.

“We’re now asking any residents in the Calow, Arkwright, Brimington and Inkersall areas to check their own CCTV to see if they have captured images of Mr Thompson. We’d specifically like people to check footage for Thursday October 15 between 9.20am and midday.

Mr Thompson (60) left Chesterfield Royal Hospital in Calow at 9.20am on Thursday, October 15.

He is white, 6ft tall and of an average build. He has short grey hair and was wearing beige trousers, a green striped polo shirt and Croc type sandals.

He speaks with a slight South African accent and has links to Manchester.

Suggestions that he may have caught a bus outside the hospital have been ruled out.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
