Police launch appeal as cemetery is vandalised

Police in Shirebrook are appealing for information after vandals caused significant damage to a local cemetery.

Offenders caused damage to a war memorial at Shirebrook Cemetery on Common Road, Shirebrook, by tipping over plants and smashing pots in the area. The incident took place sometime between 12 noon on Thursday 4th June and 8am the next day.

On the same night, vandals caused significant damage to a number of plots at the cemetery by kicking over headstones and smashing memorial tributes.

Officers are appealing to anyone with any information about the incident.
