British Transport Police want to speak to a man about the theft of a case from a train travelling between Newcastle and Chesterfield.

Officers believe the man, pictured, could have vital information about the theft, which occurred at around 11am, on Wednesday, 25 February.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Peters said: “The victim boarded the train at Newcastle and realised his luggage was missing when the train reached Derby. A man is seen to leave the train at Chesterfield with the victim’s case.”

Officers are urging the man in the images or anyone who recognises him to come forward to help police with their enquiries.
