A boyfriend who admitted harassing his ex-partner with text and Facebook messages has been placed under a community order.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard how Stefan Drew, 24, of Grange Park Avenue, Brimington, Chesterfield, had been in a relationship which was rekindled when he discovered his ex-partner had had their child.
But prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop explained Drew had become controlling and his partner tried to end the relationship and after she lost their second child during a failed pregnancy he began bombarding her with text messages during September.
Drew pleaded guilty to harassment. Steve Brint, defending, said Drew wanted to be a good parent and there was nothing threatening in his messages. Magistrates sentenced Drew on October 14 to a community order with a thinking skills programme and ordered him to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
