A reveller was caught over the drink-drive limit for alcohol the day after she had enjoyed a night out.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, September 2, how Amy Jacques, 19, of Houldsworth Drive, Chesterfield, was stopped after a police officer had spotted her driving erratically.
Prosecuting solicitor Peter Bettany said an officer in an unmarked vehicle spotted the defendant swerving and braking late.
The officer approached Jacques after she had stopped in Inkersall.
Jacques pleaded guilty to exceeding the drink-drive limit after she recorded 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Defence solicitor John Last said: “It’s a lesson for those who stay out late drinking. This lady thought she was safe to drive.”
Magistrates fined Jacques £250 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. She was also disqualified from driving for 14 months.
