Murder investigation following death of woman in Sandiacre

Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Sandiacre.

Amy Gough, 34, of Sandringham Road in Sandiacre was taken from her home to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham on Sunday March 29 where she later died. Police were informed the following day.

A post mortem examination, carried out by a Home Office pathologist, on Tuesday April 7 determined that her death is suspicious.

A 45-year-old man from Sandiacre was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday April 8 and was released on police bail the next day.

Detective Inspector Graham Prince, who is investigating the death, is appealing for anyone who knew Ms Gough to contact him.

He said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who saw Amy between Tuesday March 24 and Sunday March 29. It’s very important that we piece together her movements in and around Sandiacre and possibly in Derby in the days before her death.
