Motorist failed to provide specimen

A motorist who pulled out in front of a police car in Glossop in the early hours of the morning failed to provide a breath test, a court heard.

Officers on duty at just after 3am on March 3 saw a Ford Transit waiting to pull out of Howard Town Mill onto Victoria Street, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard. As they approached, the Transit pulled out in front of them causing them to brake to avoid a collision, prosecutor Jennifer Fitzgerald said. Driver Daniel Palmer refused to provide a specimen.

Palmer, 28, of Luke Road, Droylsden, admitted the offence. He will be sentenced on May 21.
