Man performed sex act in public on Peak trail

A Chinley man who performed a sex act on himself in front of two women told police he “just had to” do it, a court heard.

The two women were enjoying a walk on the Longdendale Trail on May 6 when they saw Peter Michael Woloszyinck running towards them adjusting his genitalia, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard.

Woloszyinck then had a brief conversation with the two women before running on a little further. The women then saw him take his penis from his shorts and begin to masturbate, prosecutor Jennifer Fitzgerald said.

One of them took a photo of him on their mobile phone and Woloszyinck was identified and spoken to by police. Initially he denied the offence but after an identity parade was arranged a few days later, he admitted it.

“The reason for the offence he gave was he just had to,” Mrs Fitzgerald said.

Woloszyinck, 34, of Charley Lane, admitted outraging public decency.

Annis Rowlands, defending, said: “The defendant himself was in a location where he couldn’t see the two women because of a bend in the trail but he accepts they could see him.”

The case was adjourned until July 21 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
