Man jailed for cultivating cannabis

A MAN has been jailed for cultivating cannabis after his fingerprints were found on the equipment used to grow the plants.

Police raided the unoccupied house on Lincoln Way, North Wingfield in February 2010 and found more than 40 cannabis plants.

Mohammed Imran, 28, was arrested after his car was seen parked outside the house and his fingerprints were found on hydroponics equipment and a plug socket in the house.

He pleaded guilty to the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Imran, of Gloucester Road, Chesterfield, was jailed for 35 months following a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Monday, August 8.
