A businessman who was caught with parts of a stolen Land Rover vehicle valued at £7,800 is due to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard how Christopher Knights, 38, of Westwood Road, Calow, Chesterfield, was caught with the vehicle’s parts, panels and engine at his garage.
Peter Bettany, prosecuting solicitor, said the Land Rover vehicle had been stolen in April and taken to this defendant’s business and taken into parts to be used to make two new cars. He added that the parts, panels and engine had been found and were being made into a new vehicle to be sold on.
Knights pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods after the offence in April. He said: “There is no getting away from it. The vehicle was stolen.”
Magistrates committed the case to Derby Crown Court for a September 6 hearing and it has been adjourned until October 10.
