Man, 60, injured in Bakewell assault

A 60-year-old man was injured during an assault in Bakewell.

At about 10.15pm on Wednesday, February 25, the victim was walking home along the footpath connecting Yeald Road and Butts Road when he was approached by a man asking for money.

He said he had no money and continued walking but was pushed forcefully to the floor.

The man suffered a cut to his eye and a grazed forehead.

The offender was described as white, 5ft 10in tall, well-built with closely cropped hair.

He was said to be wearing a bomber-style jacket, blue jeans and spoke with a Derbyshire accent.
