COURT: Court Case

A DRUG abuser was caught with heroin after police carried out a raid at his home.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard how Mark Bramall, 32, of King Street, Brimington, Chesterfield, admitted possessing 0.2grammes of heroin after police executed a search at his home.

Prosecuting solicitor Becky Mahon said: “A drug warrant was executed and Brammall had returned to the property and had a wrap of heroin with a street value of £10 in his hands.”

Defence solicitor Bob Bashforth said self-employed plumber Bramall returned home at lunch on May 1 and police had a search warrant and he volunteered the wrap of heroin to officers.

Mr Bashforth said Bramall is a “light-user”, is trying to get treatment and does not want to continue taking the drug.

Bramall pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and was fined £67 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
