Fraudster uses fake money in Glossop Co-op

A 28-year-old man has received a nine-month conditional discharge for tendering counterfeit currency in the Co-operative Food, on Norfolk Street, Glossop.

Paul Heyworth, of Peak Bank, Stockport, was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday.

He was given a concurrent nine-month conditional discharge for breaching a supervision order and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge. Heyworth’s sentence had been deferred for six months.
