A Chesterfield FC fan has been jailed and banned from attending matches for seven years after a brawl on the day his team played local rivals Sheffield United.

Steven Hill, aged 28, was arrested after a fight outside the Donkey Derby pub in Chesterfield on Saturday, October 4.

The incident took place during the second half of the League One clash between the teams.

Hill, of Chiltern Court, Chesterfield, pleaded guilty to a public order offence when he appeared at Derby Crown Court.

He was sentenced to five months behind bars, part of which was for breaching a suspended sentence for assault, which he received in 2013.

He also received a seven-year football banning order.
