Paul Kirkpatrick admitted possessing the class A drug at High Peak Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday.

The 29-year-old was searched by door staff at Club HQ, on High Street East, on December 28 and was found to have a small plastic bag containing cocaine with a value of between £5 and £10 on his person.

Kirkpatrick, of Linden Road, Manchester, admitted he had taken between £40 and £45 worth of the drug himself that evening. The court heard he had already spent 30 months in prison.

Chairman of the bench Robert Whatmough ordered him to pay a fine of £390, £85 court costs and a £35 victim surcharge.
