A pub landlord has been ordered to pay £393 in fines and costs after he sold alcoholic drinks to two under-age drinkers.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Wednesday, February 4, how landlord Graham Woodger, 53, of the Duckmanton Hotel, in Chesterfield, served Budweiser beers to two youngsters who were involved in a police test purchase at the pub.
Woodger pleaded guilty to selling alcohol to a person aged under 18 after the incident on July 17, last year.
He told the court he had been busy at the time and only realised the customers were under-age after he had served them.
Since the incident he said he has introduced warning posters and new training for staff.
