POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery and mobile phones were stolen from a broker during a robbery in Chesterfield.

The victim was assaulted at around 9.40pm, on Monday, February 11, and had a mobile phone, wallet, watch and two rings stolen in the Rectory Road area of Duckmanton.

A police spokesman said: “The victim is a self-employed broker who deals in jewellery and precious metals and had gone to meet a customer

in Barlborough.”

The supposed customer, according to police, then drove the victim to the Rectory Road area where another two men got out of another car and assaulted the broker and stole his possessions.

Police explained that both cars fled the scene after the robbery and the three men from both vehicles are being sought by Derbyshire Constabulary.

The 32-year-old victim, from Preston, suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital as a precaution.

The stolen watch is a Black Armin watch with diamonds around the face and a snake skin strap. One of the stolen rings is an 8ct diamond rose gold ring with the initials YS engraved on the inside.

Anyone with information about the incident or the stolen items should call Chesterfield CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
