Derbyshire pizza delivery driver assaulted in daytime robbery

Police are investigating after a pizza delivery driver was assaulted during a daytime robbery.

The 43-year-old victim had been called to deliver a pizza to an address on the corner of Regent Street, Ironville.

As he pulled up, he was flagged down by a man claiming to be the customer who paid for the pizza.

The driver was then assaulted by a second man and forced to the floor.

He had the cash payment and his mobile phone stolen.

The robber and the man who paid for the pizza then walked off.

Police want to hear from any witnesses to the robbery, which happened at about 6pm on April 6.

The robber was white, aged about 20 and wearing dark clothing, a baseball cap and a hoodie.
