A drug dealer has been found guilty of possessing cocaine and cannabis resin with the intent to supply.
Stephen Clifford denied both charges but was found guilty following a trial at Derby Crown Court this month.
He was jailed for five-and-a-half years.
Police told how they received intelligence on November 24 last year that Clifford was at The Spital Hotel, in Spital Lane, Chesterfield, and that he may be carrying drugs.
Officers went to the Spital Hotel and approached Clifford. according to Derbyshire Constabulary, but he left the pub but they searched the area and saw him throw away 12 packets of cocaine. They arrested him nearby.
During a search of Clifford’s car, which was parked at the pub, police said they found two blocks of cannabis resin.
The 33-year-old, of St Augustines Avenue, Chesterfield, was sentenced on Tuesday, October 8.
