A DALES man upset by the end of a relationship repeatedly phoned emergency services threatening suicide.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard this month how boozy Anthony Moulson made eleven 999 calls from his mobile phone for over two hours.
Sarah Hallam, prosecuting, said: “He said he was going to kill himself. He persistently hung up.”
Moulson, 43, was traced and apologised to police. Mrs Hallam said: “He said he had no intention of harming himself. He was heartbroken following the break-up with his partner and was drunk.”
Moulson, of Black Rocks Avenue, Darley Dale, admitted sending messages to cause inconvenience or annoyance, on November 13. He has previous convictions for threatening behaviour, possessing an offensive weapon and damage. He was sentenced to a nine-month probation supervision order with a £60 surcharge to a victims fund and £40 costs.
