CHESTERFIELD: Suspected drugs found in man’s underwear

Drugs were found in the underwear of a man after police stopped a van travelling from Sheffield.

The Ford Transit van was driving towards Chesterfield on the Sheffield Road at Whittington Moor when it was stopped by police at around 11.20am on Tuesday, October 15.

The driver and his male passenger were searched. One had suspected cannabis on him, while the other was found to have several wraps of unidentified drugs in his underwear.

The 39-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

His passenger, a 29-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Police said they carried out a search of a property in Sheffield in relation to the arrests, but didn’t find anything else.

Both men have been released pending further enquiries.
