Police are appealing for information after an elderly woman was the victim of rogue traders in Chesterfield.
At around 4.45pm on Tuesday, August 6 two men knocked on the door of the 89-year-old victim’s home on Langer Lane.
They offered to carry out repair work on her driveway that evening if she gave them money upfront to buy building materials.
The victim went upstairs to collect money and when she came back down a third man had appeared at her door. She handed over money to the men who never returned to complete any work.
The men were all white and in their 50s.
Only one of the men spoke to the victim and he is described as stocky, with short, dark hair and he spoke with a local accent. One of the other men was wearing a high-visibility jacket.
Officers would like to speak to anyone else in the area who saw or were visited by three men offering to do building work at their home or anyone who has information about the incident.
