Residents in Chesterfield are being invited to meet local police officers and have their say on issues in their area.

Members of the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Team are hosting a community panel meeting on Tuesday, November 10 for local people to voice any issues or concerns alongside officers and councillors.

The event is set to take place at the Burns Close Community Room in Grangewood from 6pm and everyone is welcome to come along.

Officers will then use feedback from the public to set policing priorities to work towards in the future.

A current priority for the team is working to tackle serious acquisitive crime across the Safer Neighbourhood area, in particular burglary and vehicle crime.

Police are also targeting anti-social behaviour in the area by speaking to anyone found to be committing it and working alongside partner agencies to set up diversionary activities for people to get involved with.

If you are unable to attend the community panel meeting but you would like to have your say on policing in your area, you can submit priority suggestions via the Derbyshire police website at www.derbyshire.police.uk.

You can speak to a member of your local safer neighbourhood team by calling 101 and you can also follow @GrangewoodSNT on Twitter to keep up to date with policing in your area.
