CHESTERFIELD: Police hunt thugs after vicious robbery

Police are urging people to protect their property online.

Police are urging people to protect their property online.

DETECTIVES in Chesterfield are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted and had his wallet and trainers stolen.

The attack happened around 2am, on Friday, February 8, as the 24-year-old victim was walking along a footpath on Lockoford Road, near the Casa hotel, and he was approached by three men.

One of the men punched him in the head and then continued to punch and kick the victim after he fell to the ground. One of the other men reached into the victim’s pocket and stole his wallet.

The victim lost consciousness and when he came round his wallet and trainers had been stolen. His trainers have since been recovered by police.

Paramedics treated the victim for his injuries but he did not require hospital treatment.

The man who hit the victim is described as white, around 6ft 2in tall, aged in his late 20s, of slim build with a bald head. He was wearing a black hooded top with red stripes. Both street robbers spoke with local accents.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chesterfield CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
