Chesterfield magistrates’ court sentences

Jonathan McArdle, 42, of Park Avenue, Glapwell, Chesterfield. Drove while not wearing a seatbelt. Fined £120. Driving without well-maintained brakes. Fined £235 and must pay a £23 victim surcharge and £100 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.

Paul Sargeson, 28, of John Street, Chesterfield. Drove while not wearing a seatbelt. Fined £90 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £35 costs.

Hayden Walker, 22, of Rodgers Lane, Alfreton. Drove while disqualified from holding a licence. Community order with 80 hours’ unpaid work. Must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points. Used a vehicle without insurance. No separate penalty.

Gareth Peter Anthony Davis, 25, of Warmwells Lane, Ripley. Drove a motorcycle on a road while disqualified from holding a licence. Disqualified from holding a licence for 12 months. Used a motorcycle without insurance. No separate penalty. Drove a motorcycle owing to the presence of which an accident occurred whereby damage was caused to a lamppost. No separate penalty. Damaged a van. Damaged a window. Licence or counterpart endorsed and committed to prison for eighteen weeks.

OTHER

Brian Carl Spencer, 40, of Bournebrook Avenue, Wirksworth. Failed to comply with a community order. Community order revoked and dealt with for the original offence of possessing an offensive weapon in public. Committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 18 months. Dishonestly received stolen goods namely lager valued at £15.98. Committed to prison for four weeks consecutively and suspended for 18 months. Must pay £15.98 compensation and £85 costs.

Teresa Blackwell, 37, of Metesford, Matlock. Stole lager and a bottle of Vodka. No separate penalty. Possessed an offensive weapon in public namely a seven-inch, kitchen knife. Committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months. Must pay an £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Stephanie Christina Kent, 53, of Westfield Road, Dronfield. Pestered someone when she was prohibited from doing so. Community order with supervision. Must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £200 costs.

Richard hardwick, 33, of Searston Avenue, Holmewood, Chesterfield. Pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment where he set up a dating profile in an alias name and sent messages and emails. Community order with a three month curfew. Restraining order. Must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Theft

Robert Steven Jackson, 25, of Church Street South, Birdholme, Chesterfield. Dealt with for two original offences of stealing alcohol for which a community order had been given. Committed to prison for 12 weeks. Failed to surrender to custody. No separate penalty.

Antony McGowan, 38, of Kenilworth Court, Flamsteed Crescent, Chesterfield. Stole meat valued at £30. Must pay a £60 victim surcharge. Stole meat valued at £50. Stole meat valued at £30.75. Stole meat valued at £20. Community order with eight week curfew, drug rehabilitation and monitoring. Must pay £100 compensation.

Mark Anthony Haystead, 40, of Wyedale Court, Littlemoor, Chesterfield. Failed to comply with a community order. No adjudication. Dealt with for the original offences of stealing a purse, two suitcases, and bacon for which a community order had been given. Stole four meat joints. Committed to prison for 12 weeks.

Drugs

Joseph Stuart William Watkinson, 30, of Walker Avenue, Ripley. Possessed Diamorphine. Stole three games and a DVD. Given a 12 month community order with drug rehabilitation and thinking skills programme. Must pay £63 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
