A soccer fan from Chesterfield has been given a football banning order for his involvement in a fight after the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

Harrow Crown Court heard how Ryan Saint was arrested after the clash between Chesterfield FC and Peterborough United supporters at Wembley Stadium, on Sunday, March 30.

The 24-year-old was charged with affray, which he admitted at Harrow Crown Court.

Saint, of Shaw Street, Chesterfield, was given an 18-month community order, told to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and was handed a three-year banning order.

The ban means he will not be able to attend any Chesterfield FC match held in the UK for the duration of the order.

There is also a requirement for convicted persons to surrender their passports whenever England play abroad.

Saint was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on November 7.
