A motorist who thought she was safe to drive after drinking wine with her sister has been fined and banned from driving.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard this month how Chloe Smith, 22, of Ashgate Road, Chesterfield, was stopped after she was weaving across the road and failed to stop at the right place at some temporary traffic lights.
Prosecuting solicitor Angela Hadfield said police were on patrol on the A61 at Wingerworth when they stopped Smith and she was breathalysed.
Smith pleaded guilty to exceeding the alcohol drink-drive limit after the incident in November, last year.
Defence solicitor Steve Brint said Smith had been drinking wine at her sister’s and thought she was safe to drive and was only just over the limit according to a blood sample. Magistrates ordered Smith to pay £327 and she was banned from driving for 12 months.
