At around 1.10pm on January 31 an Alsatian was tied up behind the Beehive Inn, on Hague Street, Glossop.

Officers were alerted by a member of the public at around 8pm when the dog had still not been collected and the RSPCA were called to the incident.

RSPCA inspector Gilly Howard said: “Fortunately this dog was spotted and taken in by a caring member of the public, who has now given her a new home. If not, she could well have been there all night.”

Anyone with any information about the incident or recognises the man in the CCTV images is urged to contact police to help with the RSPCA investigations by calling 101.
