Sgt Dave Harrison, of the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, said: “We have had a good response from the public on previous occasions when we have released images like this, and would appeal for help to identify these people, so that we can speak to them with regards to our enquiries into various shoplifting and retail related offences around the Amber Valley.

Derbyshire police and the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership are continuing to work together to target this type of crime, which can be a significant cost to the local economy.”

Sgt Harrison added: “Shoplifting has risen in the Amber Valley over the last few months of this financial year by 16 per cent, compared to the same period last year, and we want to put a stop to this trend.

“Amber Valley Shop Watch scheme is getting well established, with many business now members, and those arrested for shoplifting may not only face a criminal prosecution but also an Amber Valley Shop Watch six-month ban, from more than 60 shops across the Amber Valley area.”
