Police are appealing for information after cash was stolen from a cafe in Beeley.

Sometime between 8.50pm and 9.10pm on July 9, cash was stolen from the till of the Old Smithy Tea Rooms after offenders forced open the patio doors of the property.

Local residents heard the shop alarm sounding and spotted a boy climbing over the fence at the rear of the property. He then rode off on a red coloured motorbike with ‘L’ plates, wearing a red helmet.

He was described as being 6ft tall, of small to medium build, clean shaven, with sandy coloured ‘floppy’ hair. He wore a hooded black top, a pair of black jeans, and was believed to be between 17 and 20-years-old.

Anyone with any information, or who may recognise the person described above, is asked to contact PC Richard Wilson on 101, quoting crime number 29032/15.
