A man who burgled a house in Chesterfield has been jailed after his fingerprints were found inside the property.
Shane Smith, 29, broke into the house on Derby Road overnight between October 14 and 15, 2013 and stole a flat screen TV, laptops and DVDs.
He was arrested after his fingerprints were found on the kitchen door.
Smith, of Birchwood Crescent, Chesterfield, pleaded guilty to burglary. He also asked for an offence of shoplifting at Tesco Express, Derby Road on October 2 to be taken into account by the judge.
He was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay £100 victim surcharge at Derby Crown Court on Monday, January 13.
