BREAKING: Man arrested on Sheffield Parkway in stolen Land Rover after A61 chase

A man has been arrested on the Sheffield Parkway this morning after police chased a stolen Land Rover up the A61 for several miles.

The vehicle was reported stolen at around 3.30am today from the drive of a house in Nethermoor Road, New Tupton, near Chesterfield.

The 4x4 was spotted heading north on the A61, with officers from Derbyshire and South Yorkshire Police chasing the vehicle until it stopped on the Sheffield Parkway.

A 23-year-old man was arrested by South Yorkshire Police officers on suspicion of theft and failing to stop. He remains in custody and will be questioned.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: “Derbyshire Police would like to thank their colleagues across the border for their help.”
