A drink-driver who failed to stop after she was in a collision has been banned from driving and given unpaid work.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Thursday, December 12, how Charmaine Stanton, 26, of Jubilee Gardens, Whitwell, had been driving on Creswell Road, Clowne, when the accident happened.
Ian Shaw, prosecuting, said Stanton’s VW Polo collided with a parked Peugeot in October which knocked down someone’s wall and Stanton drove away. Police traced her address after receiving a report of her registration.
She pleaded guilty to failing to stop and exceeding the alcohol drink-drive limit.
She co-operated with an alcohol test. Magistrates sentenced Stanton to a community order until December, 2014, 100 hours’ unpaid work and she must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. She was banned from driving for 12 months.
