A motorist was caught drink-driving after she pulled out in front of a police car in Shirebrook.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard how Magdalena Wojcik, 36, was stopped on Common Lane and breath-tested.

Prosecuting solicitor Gillian Foxcroft said Wojcik pulled out in a BMW and forced the police to brake and the BMW was stopped. SportsDirect employee Wojcik, of Harrington Street, Mansfield, pleaded guilty at the hearing on September 8 to exceeding the alcohol drink-drive limit after the incident on August 23.

Defence solicitor Annette Thomas said Wojcik who has dependent children in Poland admitted it was a stupid mistake. Magistrates ordered Wojcik to pay £488 in fines and costs. She was also disqualified from driving for 17 months.
