BONSALL: Two arrested on suspicion of plotting fuel theft

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of plotting fuel theft.

Officers stopped a vehicle in Via Gellia Road, Bonsall, near Matlock, at about 9pm on Monday, July 22.

They found items in the car including a number of plastic containers and lengths of hosepipe.

Two men – aged 20 and 21 and from the Belper area – were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal after they were allegedly found with items believed to be used to siphon fuel from vehicles.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
