A Bolsover man has been charged with fraud in connection with charity clothing bins which were advertised to be collecting for an armed forces charity.

Daniel McAllister (48) has been charged with fraud by false representation and will appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Monday, 22nd July. He was arrested in April after a search was carried out at his house in Carr Vale, Bolsover.

The 40 clothing bins were advertised as collecting on behalf of ‘Help our Fallen Heroes’ which was not a registered charity.

It is alleged that money made from weighing in clothing deposited in the bins was not donated to a registered charity.

The clothing bins were located across Mansfield, Amber Valley, Chesterfield and Sheffield.

A second man, aged 53, who was also arrested as part of the investigation was given a police caution for drugs offences and released without charge in connection with the fraud.
