Police are appealing for information after thieves broke in and stole two motorbikes from a garage in Chesterfield.

Sometime between 3pm on Monday, August 17 and 9am on Monday, August 24, offenders smashed the padlocks from a garage door on Cuttholme Road and used tools to gain entry.

Once inside, they forced the ignition on two motorbikes and made off.

One of the bikes, a red coloured Honda, was later found in a stream off Ashgate Road but an orange and white coloured KTM is still missing.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the burglary, or the whereabouts of the stolen KTM, to call PC Simon Duddles on 101, quoting crime number 36225/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
